About Coil Arena

Coil Arena is a snake battle game played in a circular arena against twelve rivals. You steer with the mouse or your finger, eat the glowing orbs scattered across the map, and grow longer with every one.

The twist that makes the genre work is that length is not armour. Running your head into another snake's body kills you instantly, however big you are. Cut across someone's path so that they hit you first and they burst into a pile of orbs — which you are then free to eat.

Hold the button to boost. It burns your own length as fuel, so every chase is a trade: catch them and you profit, miss and you have paid for nothing. A live leaderboard tracks the top eight, and a minimap shows where everyone is.

How to play

  1. Move your pointer and the snake turns towards it — you cannot stop, only steer.
  2. Eat orbs to grow. Bigger orbs, dropped by dead snakes, are worth far more than the scattered ones.
  3. Never let your head touch another snake's body. Length gives you no protection at all.
  4. To kill a rival, get in front and cut across their path so their head hits your body.
  5. Boost to close a gap or escape one — it costs length while held.
  6. The arena wall is fatal. The pink circle is the edge.

Tips & strategy

  • Early on, stay near the rim. The middle is where the big snakes fight, and their leftovers are not worth the risk yet.
  • When something huge dies nearby, do not dive straight into the pile — circle it and eat from the outside.
  • Coiling tightly around a smaller snake is the reliable kill. Boosting head-on at someone is how beginners die.
  • Boost costs you length whether or not it works. Only spend it on a kill you are already most of the way to.
  • If you are boxed in, boost through the gap early. Waiting for a better gap almost never produces one.

Coil Arena — frequently asked questions

Is this a real multiplayer game?

No — the rivals are AI opponents, so it plays offline and there is never a wait for a lobby. They chase food, dodge bodies and boost like players do.

Is it like Slither.io?

It is an original game in the same snake-arena genre. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Slither.io or its developers.

Does length protect me?

Not at all. A snake of length 10 and a snake of length 2000 both die the instant their head touches another body. That is what keeps the genre tense.

How do I get on the leaderboard?

The panel tracks the top eight by length in real time. Eating a large dead snake is the fastest way up it.
