About Word Guess
Word Guess gives you six attempts to identify a hidden five-letter word. After each guess every letter is colour-coded: green in the right place, amber in the word but misplaced, grey not present at all.
Unlike the once-a-day version, you can play as many rounds as you like here.
How to play
- Type any valid five-letter word and press Enter.
- Green means the letter is correct and in the right position.
- Amber means the letter is in the word but somewhere else.
- Grey means the letter is not in the word at all.
- Find the word within six guesses.

Tips & strategy
- Open with a word rich in common vowels and consonants, like CRANE or SLATE.
- Spend guess two on five completely fresh letters rather than confirming greens.
- Watch for repeated letters — they catch out most players around guess four.
