About this image compressor & resizer
Most image compressors upload your photos to someone else's server, process them there and hand back a download. This one does not: the resizing and re-encoding happen in your own browser using the canvas API, so the picture never leaves your device.
That makes it safe for photos you would not want on a stranger's server — documents, screenshots with personal details, pictures of your family — and it also means it works with no connection once the page has loaded.
How to use it

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens in your browser. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
Which format should I choose?
WebP for the web — typically 25 to 35% smaller than JPG at the same quality. JPG if something old has to open it. PNG only when you need transparency or a pixel-exact image such as a screenshot of text.
Why did my PNG get bigger as a JPG?
JPG is built for photographs. Flat colour and sharp text compress badly in it. For screenshots and logos, stay with PNG or use WebP.
Does compressing lose quality?
JPG and WebP are lossy, so yes, a little. At quality 80 the difference is usually invisible while the file is often less than half the size. PNG output is lossless.
Is there a file size limit?
Only your device's memory. Very large images — above roughly 50 megapixels — may be slow on a phone.
