About Minesweeper
Minesweeper is pure deduction. Hidden mines are scattered through a grid; every safe square you open shows how many mines touch it.
From those numbers you work out which squares are certainly safe and which certainly hold a mine. Flag the mines, open everything else, and the board is solved.
How to play
- Choose a difficulty: Beginner 9x9 with 10 mines, Intermediate 16x16 with 40, Expert 30x16 with 99.
- Open a square. The number tells you how many of its eight neighbours are mines.
- A blank square has no adjacent mines and opens its neighbours automatically.
- Flag every mine and open every safe square to win. Your first click is always safe.

Tips & strategy
- Learn the 1-2-1 and 1-2-2-1 edge patterns — they solve themselves instantly.
- Chording on satisfied numbers is the single biggest speed gain.
- When you are genuinely stuck, guess in the corner with the lowest local mine density.

Can the first click be a mine?
No. The board is generated after your first click so the opening square is always safe.
How do I flag on mobile?
Long press a square, or switch to flag mode with the toggle button.
