About this discount calculator
Shop discounts are deliberately confusing — '30% off then an extra 20%' is not 50% off. This tool applies discounts in sequence so you see the real final price.
You can also work backwards: enter what you paid and the original price to find the actual percentage you saved.
How to use it
- Enter the original price.
- Enter one or more discount percentages.
- Optionally add a tax rate, then read the final price and total saving.
Discount Calculator — FAQ
Is 30% then 20% off the same as 50% off?
No. Stacked discounts multiply — 30% then 20% leaves you paying 56% of the original, so it is a 44% discount.
Can I work out the discount percentage from two prices?
Yes, use the reverse mode and enter the original and the price paid.
