About this emi calculator

An EMI (equated monthly instalment) is a fixed monthly payment that covers both interest and principal. Early payments are mostly interest; later ones are mostly principal.

This calculator uses the standard reducing-balance formula and shows the year-by-year breakdown so you can see exactly how the balance falls.

How to use it

  1. Enter the loan amount.
  2. Enter the annual interest rate and the tenure in months or years.
  3. Read your EMI, total interest and total payable, then expand the schedule.
