About this emi calculator
An EMI (equated monthly instalment) is a fixed monthly payment that covers both interest and principal. Early payments are mostly interest; later ones are mostly principal.
This calculator uses the standard reducing-balance formula and shows the year-by-year breakdown so you can see exactly how the balance falls.
How to use it
- Enter the loan amount.
- Enter the annual interest rate and the tenure in months or years.
- Read your EMI, total interest and total payable, then expand the schedule.
